THE SENSUAL HOME: A REMODELING TALE IN THREE PARTS
Part one: the living room
When done right, your home, your colors, and your décor reflect your personality… when “off-the-mark”, they can say you are someone you are not. Sometimes we have a hard time creating our own look or even defining what it is we are looking for... and sometimes, a great designer can create this magic for us.
Monica Bussoli, an Italian interior designer now working in Toronto, met with her client in this living room space and saw a huge discrepancy between her client’s personality and the existing décor, which she had outgrown. Her client’s life had gone through many changes in terms of work and relationships, and after much discussion, they both agreed a drastic color and style makeover was in order. She needed to reduce clutter, add space and light, and emphasize the clean lines of her home; ultimately, she needed to create a soothing place to entertain or watch TV after a hectic day.
Monica felt her client’s no-fuss personality needed to show through in a clean, updated look that was still warm and inviting. She also wanted to add a certain sensuality to the space, achieved through a play on light, texture and contrast for an overall tactile feel, and she succeeded in creating a space that is neither masculine nor feminine, and which envelopes you in light and comfort, by day or by night. Monica’s client is truly happy with this new décor.
Equestrian Chic LSW-5, a brand new Harmony Collection™ from our Leather Stone & Wood™ family of colors is ideal for creating this feel.
